Updated: Jul 24

In the heart of Baltimore, a future culinary superstar is making her mark at Boys & Girls Clubs! Last month, nine-year old Deniasha wowed the judges at the Sunshine for All Cities “Nutritious is Delicious” Cook-Off with her culinary creations and was named the winner!

As the winner of this competition, which was sponsored by Black Girls Cook and DOLE, Deniasha had the opportunity to represent the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore at the final competition in Westlake Village, California. There, Deniasha secured the top spot by 5 points, earning her the title of Junior Chef Champion!

Abina Rogers, the Club Manager at the Webster Kendrick Boys & Girls Clubs shared: “Deniasha has excelled both culinary and intellectually. I am so proud to have her as a member of my beloved Webster Kendrick.”

For Deniasha, the Boys & Girls Clubs have been a place where she can nurture her love for cooking. As a member of the Webster Kendrick Club since 2nd grade, Deniasha exemplifies how our Club Kids have the opportunity to explore their passions in a nourishing and supportive environment.
