RAVENS & PAPA JOHN’S ANNOUNCE $40,000 CONTRIBUTION TO BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS

The Baltimore Ravens and Papa John’s teamed up this past season to donate $40,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore. The contribution served as the latest initiative from the partnership between the Ravens and 48 local family-owned Papa John’s franchises in the Baltimore area.

Papa John’s originally contributed $20,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore, as well as pizzas for events and parties throughout the season. The Ravens then matched the $20,000 donation to support the efforts.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore serves more than 500 young individuals and operates five locations throughout the area, emphasizing dedication to academics, participation in communities and commitment to a healthy lifestyle. The organization provides a safe environment and positive relationships for Baltimore’s youth in an effort to present opportunities for growth and support.

“On behalf of the young people we serve, we are deeply grateful for the generous support of the Ravens and Papa John’s and their ongoing commitment to Baltimore,” stated Jeff Breslin, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore. “We are proud to be the beneficiary of the consistent community leadership shown by the Ravens and their willingness to engage strong partners like Papa John’s in our work to ensure young people across Baltimore are engaged in positive and enriching activities.”

Baltimore-area Papa John’s franchises have a strong history supporting a multitude of charitable causes, teaming up to raise money for organizations that include the USO, Autism Speaks, Special Operations Warrior Foundation and St. Jude's Hospital.

“Papa John’s has been a long-time sponsor of the Baltimore Ravens,” said Bill Freitas, president of Papa John’s Baltimore Co-Operative. “When the opportunity to team up with the Ravens and raise money for Boys and Girls Club of Metro Baltimore presented itself, we jumped at it. We feel the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Baltimore has the same spirit of supporting local young people and love of our community as do the Papa John’s franchisees in this area.”

“The Boys and Girls Club has demonstrated a longstanding commitment that helps children build brighter, stronger futures,” Ravens president Dick Cass stated. “We’re proud to join Papa John’s in supporting an organization that has impacted Baltimore youth in such a meaningful way.”
