At Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore (BGCMB), we believe in equipping our young people with the tools, mentorship, and experiences they need to build great futures. Thanks to our incredible partners at Access Holdings, we recently took a major step in that mission with the launch of our brand-new podcast, Navigating Teen Life.

Last week, our teens stepped into the world of digital storytelling with their inaugural episode, filmed and produced at the Access On Air podcast studio in the Access Acceleration Center (A2C). This milestone moment is more than just a podcast—it’s a platform for Baltimore’s teens to find their voices, express their thoughts, and develop critical skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

Through this initiative, Access Holdings has helped us create innovative programming where teens gain experience in public speaking, scriptwriting, and podcast production.

Of the initiative, Kelly Ramsden, communications associate at Access Holdings, said, "It has been an incredible experience working alongside the leadership team and the extraordinary teens at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore to bring this vision to life. Watching the teens step into the world of digital storytelling and take ownership of their voices has been incredibly impactful. From planning the episode to recording it in a professional studio, these young adults are gaining invaluable skills that will serve them for a lifetime. This partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration, and we’re excited to see how these teens continue to grow and thrive."

The first episode explored an important and timely topic: balancing mental health and social media. In today’s digital age, young people are constantly navigating the challenges of online connection, self-image, and well-being. This discussion provided an opportunity for open dialogue, reflection, and peer-to-peer advice on how to maintain a healthy relationship with social media while prioritizing mental wellness.

We are beyond grateful to Access Holdings for making this initiative possible and for their ongoing commitment to empowering Baltimore teens. This is just the beginning—we look forward to many more episodes, engaging conversations, and inspiring collaborations to come.

Stay tuned for more updates on Navigating Teen Life, and thank you for being part of our journey to uplift and empower the next generation of leaders!
